Running in the rain...no big deal for these folks
As the LA Marathon makes it's way through Brentwood you can't help but want to tough out the rain and join the crowd. San Vicente Blvd becomes an arena of fans supporting friends, family and strangers as they've made it to the 22 mile mark. I watched it last year but it still blows my mind to see people peddling their bikes because they can't run, barefoot runners and everyone else who put so much time and dedication into this race. Rain or shine the Lulu Lemon staff are some of the biggest cheerleaders beginning at about 7:30AM with a DJ, and plenty of refreshments to hand off to the runners. Kudos to everyone standing in the pouring rain and congratulations to everyone running. You're awesome!

Saturday March 12th 2011...As we arrived at the entrance my new P.I.C.(Partner in Crime) MaryAnne Siena, and I were greeted by people, tons of people, handing out free goodies. It was like Christmas, Hannakuh and every other holiday rolled into one. I explained to MaryAnne that we would basically snack our way through thousands of healthy foods, drinks and other products.
"Stacy wasn't kidding....one by one we conquered as many booths as possible. As we indulged in an over-wheleming playground of health and wellness goodies, we discovered some favorites."

Race for a Cause: Every little bit counts!
RACE FOR A CAUSEThe Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
Last week I attended a wonderful event but realized I've lived in Los Angeles for almost 21 years and have never been to The Pacific Dining Car in Santa Monica. You could say it's a best kept secret, but the old school decor and family style ambiance is where the likes of Steven Spielberg, Tom Cruise and many other Hollywood heavy weights have come to enjoy a great meal without being bombarded by paparazzi. It's also the place where The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has an open door policy to hold their fundraisers like the recent kick off party for The Man & Woman of the Year Campaign. Wes Idol, who owns this 4th generation family establishment has no problem opening his doors for a great cause. The restaurant makes a perfect venue for any event.
What's next...Wes will continue to spearhead the campaign for LLS, a fundraiser for the next 10 weeks to see who can raise the most money and become the next man and woman of the year. Each dollar raised counts as one vote. On May 14th the charity will celebrate the winners and everyone else who devotes their time and effort to finding a cure. The grand finale event will be held at The Ritz Carlton in Marina del Ray.
