L.A. Family Housing Harvest Festival and Halloween party

Sunday October 30th...What's sweeter than candy, taking time to give back and thanks to volunteers from Partner's Trust and Hot 92.3 160 kids and their families got some extra special attention yesterday. Shann Silver, of Partner's Trust asked me to join at the kids arts and crafts table but instead we found ourselves volunteering at the most popular activity area, the pony rides. As a former equestrian I was more than thrilled and happy to give the ponies some attention too. It may not seem like much but four hours of pony rides, cookie decorating, temporary tattoos and music brought a lot big smiles to160 kids. That's priceless.

L.A. Family Housing’s mission is to help families transition out of homelessness and poverty through a continuum of housing enriched with supportive services. LAFH has 65 families at our Sydney M. Irmas Transitional Living Center, so that means we had about 160 kids at yesterday’s Harvest Festival. The kids had a blast riding the ponies, playing games, and painting their pumpkins. The families also enjoyed a BBQ lunch, popcorn, cotton candy and music from HOT 92.3 radio. Thanks again to Partners Trust volunteers for helping to make this event a wonderful treat for kids and families at L.A. Family Housing.

If you'd like to become involved or lend some volunteering please visit www.lafh.org

Saturday Oct. 22th Gabe Serrato raises money to benefit The Trevor Project

Last Saturday I ventured from the Westside for a very worthy cause and to support a good friend and fellow colleague. Gabe Serrato hosted an event at his stunning home in Laguna Beach to continue to raise awareness and funds for The Trevor Project. In addition to the beautiful location, the event drew a huge crowd, had delicious bites and tasty sangria made with VeeV Acai Spirit. VeeV is carbon neutral – the first acai berry spirit. I'm always excited to find another great eco product.

Gabe and his team did an amazing job!

Examinar.com: The secrets behind the "un-made" made look featuring Larenim

The secrets behind the “un-made” made look

Continue reading on Examiner.com The secrets behind the “un-made” made look - Los Angeles beauty trends | Examiner.com http://www.examiner.com/beauty-trends-in-los-angeles/the-secrets-behind-the-un-made-made-look#ixzz1aaqxYtIG

No one likes to leave the house without her face “on” because you never know if Mr. Right is in the produce aisle, your husband’s biggest client is also picking up take out, or “that mom” (who is always so polished) is putting gas into her car too. The “un-made” made look not only creates a fresh, flawless appearance, but is a more natural and youthful everyday style. Because, if your hair and makeup look good….Need we say more?

No-makeup, makeup
In November, Larenim founder and creative director, Kirsten Corcoran, unveils the newest addition to her mineral cosmetic line, C the Light. C the Light is a bio-active blend of magnesium ascorbyl phosphate and trans resveratrol in a vitamin and mineral base. When applied to your entire face, C the Light (available in two shades) minimizes the appearance of hyper pigmentation and will help your overall skin tone appear brighter. Corcoran suggests using a kabuki brush to buff C the Light onto face. The product does not contain talc, parabans and will not block pores. C the Light will give your skin an overall healthy glow that won’t look “done” for those minimal makeup days.

C the Light (medium), part of the new Magical Mystery Flower Tour Collection  $26.00
